You ask, I answer! Before heading off on a trip to the Dominican Republic followed by New York, I set up my camera and put together this quick video including tips and tricks to make packing easy.

Do you have any secrets that you care to share? Leave a comment on what your #1 packing tip is below.

With a minor case of OCD, my #1 tip for packing is my garment rack! This helps me to visualize outfits and allows me to see if I am forgetting anything! Of course I edit the rack and eliminate most of what is on there to only a few items of clothing that get the honor of coming with…haha. Toss it all in my suitcase and I’m off! Great post Jacey, travel and packing topics are my fav!

So just a couple of suggestions but if you pack your hat upside down on the bottom of your bag you can fill with stuff and then surround the brim with clothes this way the brim is at the top where it’s more protected and may potentially get less crushed. Also for longer coats or jackets and pants I like to pack these on the bottom as well, half way in, then I put all my other clothes on top of them and then fold the over hang over the whole bunch = less wrinkles!

  • Packing tips are always an essential thing to know since we all travel at some point. Great tips! 🙂

  • These are great tips. I travel at least once every year, and there are a few key things in here that I thought of, but try to avoid because I am so stubborn. For example, I know that I don’t need all the shoes I pack, but I bring them anyway. But I typically suggest to other people not to pack everything and pack things that can be layered or can be mix and matched to create various outfits. Great tips! Love the video.
