It’s been nearly 5 years since I’ve visited Hong Kong & my last trip included a quick 2 night stop between Los Angeles and Thailand. So, you can imagine my excitement when Travel + Leisure reached out for a fun partnership with Cathay Pacific Airways to visit this bucket list destination.

With my trip to Hong Kong just around the corner {early June}, I have been scouring the internet and my Pinterest boards for must see, must eat and must shop places. Here are a few posts that I came across that were helpful in planning my itinerary.

Have you ever been to Hong Kong? Leave your suggestions in the comments!

  • I haven’t been to Hong Kong or Shanghai yet but I have been to mainland China in Chengdu. Loved it. Best experience of my life. Life changing. Super humid and I got mosquito bites to make my legs ugly for years but it was a great experience lmao. Wouldn’t live there though lmao.

One of us lived in HK for 15 years and still visit almost every year 🙂 We recently just did a travel guide/diary of HK, feel free to check it out, hope you will find it helpful with things to do and most importantly, places to eat!! Have fun and enjoy your trip!

    One of my favorite cities!

Definitely go to the Peak, its beautiful on a clear day or night (take a cab/car service). The Intercontinental Hotel lobby has an amazing view of the Harbor at night – they also make a pretty mean burger.

Yardbird is great, but pretty busy, so try to make a reservation in advance if you can.
Lane Crawford is perfection. I have only been to the one at Harbor City, but I’ve heard the IFC location is even better.

Take a few business cards from the hotel you’re staying at, that way you can show cab drivers where they need to take you as most don’t speak English. And don’t forget to look left when crossing the street!
    Enjoy!

Din Tai Fung. Best. Dumplings ever. There are 3 locations, you have to go. Also, get a drink at Ozone (the highest bar in the city in the Ritz), and ride on the Star Ferry (very cheap and offers one of the best views of the city)

  • AH CANT WAIT! I will be expanding my business out there soon enough and I’m looking forward to traveling there frequently! x

Hi Jacey – I’m not sure if you follow other travel bloggers but Lesley Murphy (theroadlestravelled.com) has been to Hong Kong and is currently on a 2-week trip over there (snapchat lesmurph) but she gives a ton of information on places to go, things to try. How wonderful you get to go there again! Hong Kong is my favorite city in the world, no other comes within striking distance. It’s 10 years since I’ve been there, you are very lucky. Enjoy!

I have now lived in HK for 5 years and have to say it really is the best city! There is something to explore around every corner. I know someone else suggested the lobby bar at the Intercontinental in TST for a drink it really is one of the best views of the Island city skyline and if you happen to be there during the light show its an added bonus.

If your going to be here a while, you could get an octopus card at any MTR station…it will make your life easier while here because you can quickly and easily pay for MTR, bus, 7-11 stops and it makes you feel a bit more like a local 😉

Don’t forget to eat a egg/bubble waffle from one of the street vendors. My kids and I enjoy them as a sweet treat.

    Enjoy HK!
