As many of you know, I struggle with social anxiety and heading into a week filled with the Who’s Who of the fashion industry is always very intimidating for me. My panic slowly started to build last week when I began planning outfits and my insecure inner voice started to slowly creep out. The fashion industry can sometimes feel a little competitive and being surrounded by such strong and supportive women was a perfect and positive way to start the week. I honestly didn’t expect my experience with Bobbi Brown to have as large of an impact on me going into the week as it did and I am completely flattered to be part of the 25 top global beauty, fashion and lifestyle influencers that were invited.

The first night we kicked off the celebration with garden cocktails at the beautiful Crosby Street Hotel. The following morning, I received a one-on-one makeup application from a Bobbi Brown makeup artist and I learned so much about the new lipstick formula, which keeps your lips hydrated using Vitamins E & C and beeswax. My girl Zanita snapped a few street style shots right after and I laughed with my blogger gal pals about the clichés of blogging and everything that comes along with it.
I’ve had a major girl crush on Jenna Lyons since I can remember. I was beyond floored when I found out that she was the special guest at lunch – I could hardly contain myself! Jenna always crushes amazing lip colors and while I was always a little hesitant to bust out a bold lip, I was inspired by her fearless attitude and approach to personal style. Another fearless female I’ve crushed on for years is Lykke Li. I remember seeing her in concert last year and thinking of how powerful she is with her strong style and confidence. I was able to chat with her a bit at one of the events and snagged a photo {at the bottom of this post}.
I think I’ve always steered away from wearing lip color because deep down I wanted to draw attention away from my face. I was always concerned that by the end of my day, I’d have lipstick smeared all over my face looking like a hot mess. Crushed is a lipstick that not only offers a perfect stained effect, but it’s made to last so you can put it on in the morning and have eight hours of feather-free wear. The past few days of learning more about Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colors and spending time with amazing women who are {literally} crushing it in life has left me feeling more empowered than ever before.
Special thank you to Bobbi Brown for including me
