Ritualistic Behavior

New York Winter

When I was in college and I couldn’t sleep I would stay up and write in my journal or work on a paper for school. Now when I can’t sleep I work on my blog. I don’t know if it’s necessarily a healthy obsession since sometimes I find myself staying up until sometimes 3, 4 or 5 a.m., but nonetheless it has turned into a ritualistic behavior when insomnia strikes.

As equally obsessed to blogging are my newest infatuations with not one but two new additions to my wardrobe: this Tory Burch jacket & sick Zimmermann booties. Sadly the exact items aren’t online quite yet but I promise to add links as soon as they are. The boots are super comfy & easy to tromp around this NY snow and the coat is light and airy but super warm and fuzzy {not in a annoying shedding type of way}.

  1. Isn’t it funny how some things about us never change, no matter what stage we are in life? Ever since I can remember, when I can’t sleep I have to move to a different bed (or even the floor!) before I have any chance of catching some zzz’s. PS – new york looks so dreamy in these pictures, I hope you’re enjoying every minute!

  2. Well at least you are being productive if you cannot fall asleep! Those booties are amazing, cannot wait for you to share the link. The all black ensemble looks great against the fresh white snow.

  3. What a great winter outfit! I will check back in a few days for the links for the coat and boots – I’m really loving the tory burch coat. Have a great time in NYC!

  4. I get the insomniac thing (I’ve got it) I’ve even tried meditation- doesn’t work for me. Just go with it. Eat healthy and so on and you’ll be fine. Oh you were smart to leave Sunday. Slept in the airport because the flight was canceled. We just settled in @ Dream

  5. Absolutely agree with the “productive insomnia”. There are just too few hours in the day!

We’re also loving your outfit here. Monochromatic chic is practically our uniform.

  6. First of all, I was the girl that emailed you about the Sam Edelman leopard sneaks. Love them. Second, love the ensemble. Nice and sleek. I love black and greys and the bag is lovely. I don’t know if you have the time, but I just started a blog today called http://www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com. I have a chronic illness, but love fashion like you, and wanted to focus on that.
